My favourite photos of my daughter are the ones where I’ve managed to capture her doing something that we absolutely love or that she doesn’t do anymore; these are the ones that I’ll be getting out on her 18th birthday and showing her future friends.

For this reason, when it comes to photographing children and families, I prefer to try and capture them in their daily lives in more of a candid style than many other children’s photographers go for. I find that this way you get certain smiles, looks and mannerisms that you can only recreate in environments they’re comfortable in and really mean something to the parents.

Of course, sometimes this might need some tactical positioning and planning, but I try to shy away from full background sets with props and outfits, not because there’s anything wrong with it, but simply because it’s just not my style.

If you have anything specific you would like me to try and capture you child doing or special faces they sometimes make that you know one day they might not do anymore, get in touch.
